Set in a medieval time period, you start as a lonely province with a few resources and nothing but what you have read on the guides to help you. Sure you could quit because you don’t want to take time to read those guides or ask other for help. But let me tell you, your missing out on a great game! Being a MMORPG game it is controlled by a turn based system in which you get 1 turn per hour. This system helps restrict new people from rapidly growing over those that have been here for months. Don’t be discouraged by this, like I said this is a game of strategy as well as diplomacy. Getting started is rough and you will have to find friends to help you on your way, you just have to look and keep asking. In game, provinces are measured by their net worth. New provinces are protected until they are at least 30,000 net worth which is really help so those that have chosen to raid the less fortunate. Even if you mess up building your province, the excellent coding of the aarcsoft team has allowed you to recovery later in the game even though it may take longer to grow large. You learn from your mistakes and get stronger from your experiences. You build your province with resources you gather, explore land and even raise an army. The best part is the interaction you get with other players. Some will form friendships with many and probably even a few foes along the way. Great kingdoms have been formed and some have been destroyed all because of what they have said and done. It does not matter what size you are, someone can go from the top to the bottom in a matter of days. This is the realism that is built into the game. Its not as graphic as those big game you pay for but it makes up for it in the true unique experience you get. Reviews that you see that say “this game sucks” or whatever have not truly played the game long enough and understand the people behind it. Play it for a few months, get a feel for how its played, make mistakes, form friendships, make a kingdom, destroy others, anything you want to do, it just takes time and if you feel you got a great experience you can even reward the makers with some small donations in return for their hard work. This is not a game you have to log into every single day in order to be successful; this is extremely helpful for those that can’t play games that pretty much require you to be on every day to get anywhere.
