This MMORPG is not your run of the mill ordinary internet game. Instead it is more of a community, the majority of players who have played for a long enough time to start a respectable sized province are active and this creates a game environment and forum environment where you will seldom be bored. Even if you have nothing to do in the game at a particular point in time you can still use up those hours of your boredom talking to and getting to know other players.
Aegis is a game of conquest, diplomacy, and peace. Each player is given a province with which they slowly grow, starting at 1,000 Networth going on to over 500 million. You gain networth through building up your province in the ways of buildings and plans. You collect gold from your peasants and can create a fleet of merchants to add gold to your stockpiles.
The game has 2 types of forums in which diplomacy and a better knowledge of the game can be created. Through these 2 forums you can communicate with other players throughout the game or just some that are in your kingdom, a group of up to 25 provinces that are joined together by a king who provides defense for the provinces. In the forums if you need help figuring out certain aspects of the game you can ask for help and be almost assured of an answer which is helpful unlike in most other online games. Through the empire forum, the main forum, you can talk with players outside of your kingdom. Using the empire forum kingdoms can create peace treaties or join together in an attempt to rule the game.
This game is turn based where you gain a turn for every hour that your account is active and after 100 turns have been stored up you can no longer receive any more. The challenge of the game is in being able to create a balanced province which can withstand attacks from other players while not being too heavily defensive that you can not hand out attacks as well.
In my opinion this is one of the best online games that I have played so far. The interface is simple and easy to use. This game is highly enjoyable and if you find yourself without anything to do while surfing the web join up get a province and start on your way to becoming emperor of Aegis.
