Game Maker 7.0...Not Familiar With Latest GM Version (?9.0?)

I acquired GAME MAKER 7.0 by purchasing the book "The Game Maker's Apprentice" from a Barnes & Noble store. The book had a CD with the free version of GAME MAKER 7.0 known as "Lite". I was able to create a wide variety games quite easily; because, the CD had Sprites & Backgrounds & Music & Sounds available. GAME MAKER 7.0 LITE also allowed me to customize those Sprites & Backgrounds & Music & Sounds; as well as, allow me to create my own Sprites & Backgrounds. GAME MAKER 7.0 LITE didn't have a Music & Sound Maker System; but, GAME MAKER 7.0 LITE allowed you to Download your own Music & Sound Files for your GAME MAKER 7.0 LITE Games. I am familiar with the GW-BASIC Computer Programming Language, having acquired the bbok "Learning BASIC For Tandy Computers". I never acquired the book "Graphics & Sounds for Tandy Computers"; thus, my GW-BASIC Programming Skill is limited. However, I was able to do Motion Graphics with GW-BASIC on the Tandy Computer from the TRS-80 COLOR COMPUTER 2 GW-BASIC Instruction Guides. My only complaint with the GAME MAKER 7.0 LITE was that I couldn't do the code writing for Mathematical Calculations & graphics Control that I have with GW-BASIC. In fact, I don't know any Y2K+ Computer Programming Language that allows me to do Graphics & Mathematical Calculations & Text Printing Programming like GW-BASIC. I haven't found any Y2K+ Computer Language Code Guides that could could teach me; and, that had the associated Y2K+ Compiler. Having visited the GAME MAKER Website last year, it seems that the Full Version of GAME MAKER 9.0 has solved some of my Y2K+ Computer Language complaints; and, is capable of 3D Game Creation.
