It kind of seems pointless when you're a newbie, but it gets REEAALLY addicting when you get a little better! You train your character by fighting monsters and as you get better, you can use better weapons, armor, fight better monsters, and do all sorts of really cool stuff! There's money to earn, quests to do--if you haven't tried runescape already, you really have to! It's the best!!
