What the other reviews and the description of the game provided by the owner don't tell you is that it's a raider game.
When it was first begun, Toadwater was created as a survivalist-type game, where there are few if any rules. It still is. Yes, you can plant trees and some crops, build up quite a bit of gold and build your own base.
But all those things can be taken away from you by a determined raider, who can chop through your fences and steal everything you have made for yourself.
Much of the community is great, but the owner doesn't believe in censorship so the forum is a mess of flaming, namecalling and written attacks between players. Definitely not 'family friendly', if you know what I mean.
Don't get me wrong. If you don't mind a game with a little grit to it, it's not a bad game. But it's never going to be the game it should have been. The owner doesn't supply new content and he keeps getting rid of the development teams he puts together to revive the game.
It's good for maybe 2-6 months of fun, after that, you may find yourself becoming bored.
