Now, before we start i have a small message for all the noobs out there (under about lvl 80): You wonder why you get called a noob. OMG! Im lvl 89 and i am a member. Its very annoying when a poor level 20 follows you for an hour saying can i have some money! A fee of $5 a month is not alot to ask for. Jagex keep puting more quests on so that people can benefit more from the game. If your a non member who wants to complain about poor graphics, or not many quests, items or skills, then why not spend a mere $5 to get 30 days of membership. 30 days is a long time for only $5. They have updated the game so that you cant get scammed and you cant get hacked unless your a dum noob who tries to download autoers. Nobody can just say "ohh i would like to hack Stjimmy001(thats me =)." They have updated the graphics and personally i think its an amazing game. Try finding a better one where you dont have to give them personal details or pay to play.
Once again, people wonder why they get called noobs...

Love Hate: An Addiction

You either love Runescape or hate it with a burning passion. Some of you out there might be like me, you spent every free waking moment on Runescape. You leveled up and worked hard and loved every minute of it. You sat at your computer screen and you got thin and pale. You played until you got a headache and sometimes more. You may even be like I was and eventually after playing it so much, looking at a computer screen would make you physically ill. At this point you step back and look at your life wondering...why? You lost friends, physical strength, your health, connection with your family. You essentially lost your life as you knew it. For what? So a virtual person could become a little bit better at slashing a goblin or a city guard?

All I'm saying is RuneScape can be a great game and I recommend you at least try it to see which of the Love Hate categories you fit in, but be careful. It's all too easy to get addicted to another world.

Ah...RuneScape

RuneScape... ah, RuneScape. This game... wow. This game is impressive in how many people across the world played it, and how many of them got over it and quit. RuneScape and I have had an interesting experience together. This is the one game that EVERYONE has played.

I've gone through about nine RuneScape phases. But I'm done with it. You know why? There is NOTHING ABOUT IT THAT MAKES IT UNIQUE. It's got to be the most mindless game in the world: Kill cows, level up, buy new stuff, kill cows, level up, buy new stuff. Die. Lose all your stuff. Kill cows, level up. Buy new stuff. WOOPS!! A scammer! Lose all your stuff. UH-OH!! A HACKER!! Lose your account. Start a new account. Kill cows, level up....

Again and again. It just keeps going like that. And all the hackers and scammers... the game is FULL of them! It's sick.

This game is pretty much completely full of crap. But not because of bad graphics, repetitive gameplay... because of IT. The point. It sucks.

Runescape

Well where should I start? Runescape is basically a game played by all kinds of people all over the world. Included in these all kinds of people are perverts, scammers, and hackers. Try logging on to a free world in runescape with out seeing someone asking for cyber sex, as well as other personal information. If that wasn't bad enough there are countless other players whos goal is to hack your account for the items or even the entire account. I myself have to saw that runescape has become the victim of a troubled world, once free of those troubles runescape is now loaded with them.

Now for the good points of the game... Weekly updates that give it a small edge over games of better value such as World of Warcraft and Everquest 2, combined with more free will towards creating your perfect player make the game some what descent. The paid members game gives you freedom from the crooked free worlds and their gamer community, as well as a many great new skills and items as well as the ability to post on the forums.

Over all I give runescape a 2.5 for free worlds and a 4.0 for members. Also children under 13 and possibly some 14 year old should not play runescape due to the fact that its free worlds are filled with evil people who wish nothing but to harm others physically, sexually, or emotionally.

The best game ever

This game is brilliant every one is saying theres other games like this but there not genuine they all copied runescape because it has had loads of hits and it earns so much money people who think this game is rbbish because they can't become a member just can't take life isn't always about member ship i'm not a member and i'm a good level so you just can't take it that you are too cheap so you should play this game and it isnt the same thing all the time you groe levels to kill better monsters cut down better trees and get into the high score etc. Try it out and if you get called any thing bad don't say anything back just report them so you can laugh about there ban

good until lvl 65

its supper good, but its boring when u get to lvl 65 i am lvl 80 my user name in runescape is trade man60 u can go to highscore look him up ok back to the game you use the mouse to move you left click the mouse to attack a monster and left click to move.to pick up items you left click it.theres alot of left clicking in this game.and zezima is a noob he thinks he the best player he is the 1st. person to have the most exp buts thats nothing i bet he can get beaten by a lvl 120-126-128 people. i had to rate this a 3 because ppl hack scam mean and support sucks.

There are many of these games around, this is a trustworty genuine game, but there are many out there that are after your info, so just becareful.

I thought I would try this game as I normally play mafia style rpg's. I gave it 3 weeks, just to be sure it was not my thing, I was right! not my cup of tea.

I can see how it can become addictive though.

It's Fun Play It

its accually a fun game but thats my opinion. i already stopped because it kinda gets boring, i mean its the SAME thing over and over again (UNLESS YOUR A MEMBER) as you can see above the ! that i would imagine you playing more IF your a member
but im only 10 so of course i dont hav a job and my parents think it's a waste of money ..... but when you get older you realize that it kinda is....i mean your not going to play it FOREVER and in the end when you stop playing you wasted X amount of money for what? A LEVEL 159 rich guy who can afford anything ! THE THING TO DO IS SELL THE ACCOUNT but thats against the rules so. ALL IM SAYING IS IT'S FUN PLAY FOR A WHILE BUT DONT WASTE YOUR LIFE TRYING TO ACHIEVE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE IN THE GAME BECAUSE YOU CAN'T WIN THEY KEEP ON MAKING NEW QUEST TO KEEP YOU ON LONGER TRUST ME I KNOW (I WASTED 3 YEARS) =X BUT IT IS A FUN GAME TRY IT

Runescape Can be great, for a while..

Ive played runescape for er about a year now and im a member. At first I used to play runescape all the time and was addicted to it because it was great fun to play and talk to loads of ppl ^_^ although now I really can't be bothered to play because you will start to get bored after a while. Although I do love castle wars. I dont mind playing it but not for too long now because you've got to remember there is also a real world and you can go out with your mates and stuff ^-^. Oh yeh My account is called 'fizzlol' I'm a lvl 90.. I actually dont like to level up but i do cos of castle wars. Happy playing ^.^ But just don't exceed your game play is all that i recommend.

Long Review About Runescape - Members and Non Members

There are ALOT of bashers and ALOT of haters. I dont HATE it but you all shouldnt LOVE IT. Maybe you could if you have never even played a second of World Of Warcraft but still.

Quests - There are many quests. Some say they arent that origional, hey they're unique but they are sort of the same and you NEED a guide on how to do it. Seriously. The hunted mantion thing? Who the hell figured that out? Seriously. Geek alert. And there are other things too... Anyways.

Players - I never realy see people calling people noobs, but you know, some people are, but theres no reason to call them noobs.

Levels - it all matters on levels and people act as though stength is the only skill that matters. People worshing players at level 100. For what reason? Because they're suck ups sucking up to someone with no life because they probably think that person is some great person in real life to achive something like that on the internet. Anyways. Id like to play connect the dot on that guy who has the highest level's forehead. Anyone care to join me?

The graphics - Man. Badd. But you know, could you draw better? Some of you, probably, others with like paint, lol, no. Anyways. It could be better. everything looks square, and the characters are so bland. The hair is ugly as hell and the armour for things, simply put, its all too plain.

Skills - There are alot of skills and some have no point. Farming takes so long and its terrible. All of the skills.. They require maybe a cheap 1g item to do. Kind of boring. If they try to add something else, it all gets to complicated. FARMING for example. Some things for COOKING for example. Slayer isnt that bad and neither is carpentry. Other than the fact that the only way to get cloth, oak, mahogany. and teak planks is to buy them - for RIDICULOUS prices. The non member skills - not too complicated. I cant belive people praise people at level 99. For what? For being able to click maybe a fishing spot or have enough time on their hands to mine fifty billion rocks and have enough patience to go to the laggy world one, wait for somenone to leave so they can actually get in, lag all the way to lumbridge, and then get scammed by some noob who has less of a life than you. Keep it simple, not boring.

Money and things - The bank is HORRID. They dont read their comments they recive. On the runescape tip it site, there is a great new idea for the banking system. Its been around for a year now. It "celebrated" a year of that idea being there. I bet RS hasnt even seen it. You know, thats how they are. They dont give a damn but they do their job and ignore people because thats all that matters. Now the money thing, as demand goes up, the value of 100k or even 1k goes down. You cant buy anything decent for 1k. You get what IM saying? A decent set of armour (Maybe rune) or something costs about 200k. I dont really know my prices or anything but you know, it happens. Party hats and other things you can trade form way back - they are RIDICULOUS. Ridiculous prices and hey, you cant see them. People wear them just to show off how much money they have on their head. And its NOT EVEN MONEY. ITS PIXEL MONEY. Its to show how good you are at hacking someone or like how long you spend on some cheap 2 bit game. Ok that was a smasher there but it had to be said.

The Map - It takes a shit load of time to load and its annoying. It goes blank and who even needs the map other than members? There are so many fences and stuff its so hard to get around. Its dumb.

Members - The only thing I wanted to do when I became a member was get a cat and just show off my members stuff. For no reason. That was a bust. The cat's stupid, takes about a week (if not more) for someone with a life to get their cat big, then they go overweight. The fish - how the hell do we even make their fish food? There's fish food in the drayanor mannor but noo, we have to do this and this and this and go all over runescape trying to find all the ingredients. For non members, members are snoody. I tried doing all the members quests. THING IS - YOu cant do a quest without doing a ridiculously hard quest which requries several other quests that require lots of gold, time, effort, and items you've never heard of. The map isnt much better. Ardrouge is kind of cool. Not. Its sort of like a rip off of Varrock and whatever.

Guilds - The ming guild sucks so dont get me started. Ok Im started. Only two mith rocks, and a bunch of fking coal? Its not worth it. Unless you like buying coal and selling it for alot on the laggy world one server. You COULD find someone who would pay a ridiculously low price on your server but thats not what Id do, but hey, thats just me. And the prices of noobs on empty worlds - selling coal 500 each, wav: seling caol fur 1056 gps ech ~bobisallamafomgafkjsafl. You see what I'm saying? The other guilds are kind of cool. Cooking? No point to it really. nice place to cook and grind flower (if you dont mind walking a mile and back) and not even saying the trip to the bank. I mean its relatively clouse but still. There is no point to the f2p quest point guild. I dont even remember what its called. Well there is one point. To wear a rune plate armour. Greatt. Go up to the wildy, get some planks from a graveyard trying NOT TO GET KILLED BY PKERS in groups of fifty fking million. Then you have to do a bunch of other things. Like getting the map from the guy in the jail, annoying. He's like you either gotta range him or mage him. Both take time and effort and gold which no one wants to spend. You know? And when you have to pick it up you either PAY him 10k (in which case you dont have to kill him) or kill him and use telekenetick grab. Oh joy. And now. THe members guild- Legends and Heros. Now wtfs with that. The quests you need to do the quest to do the quest to get in are impossible and you need lots of money. Etc etc. Read the thingy on guilds if you want to hear more. Anyways. Only top /nerds/ get into there anyways. Like it takes more than a month of membership to get that good to do all that. For me, it costs 10$ CAD I think. 11. Yea. 11$ fking dollars. Thats ridiculous. If I were to take 2 months to go do a bunch of stuff, I would be spending 22$. Not so bad, right? Idk. Make up your own mind but I could go buy a 10x better game for that much. Spend 20 CAD, yes twenty, thats two dollars less than runescape (mind you one month less) and youd have a month of a much better game with quests, nice people (people dont want to be banned because their actually paying for it) and like they are more mature. Unless someone in their family buys it for them. Anyways. They dont play for long. They get killed off a few times anyways. Its funny. Heh. Uh. Yea. The skills are fked. Like you know you can get into the fishing guild and stuff too but still, whats the point? I could fish and cook my stuff in Drayanor (Karamja not too far away) for 60gp a trip, never mind 11$, mkay? So. The fishing guild itself is stupid. People pay to be members to go in there where it totaly messes up the rules of runescape. Like fly fishing in rivers, cageing and harpooning in the sea, etc etc. All in one place. Whats up with that? There are many ways to make lots of gold but hey, if you'd trade 11$ for like 100k gps then your a total nerd. Heh. Face the FACTS, honey. Now go get some acnea cream for your face before that gets even worse.

Player Mods or whatever (With the little blue crowns) - Dude, they are only like that because they are geeks plain and simple. Because they spend their money and time and life and other things playing runescape when they could be doing other things. They are totaly sucked up too aswell. End case.

The music - Wtf. It sucks ass. Like wow. Repetative and boring. Id rather listen to gwen stefani or or paris hilton, britney spears or her exhusband than listen to that stuff droning on and on.

Like what you want, this is just my opinion.

Its not that great but not that bad. Anyone who totaly bashes it is just fking pissed off because they are some angry nerd who spent a few months on a game, thought they had "elite" status, and got "hacked" when really, they were dumb enough to get S C A M M E D. Dude, check in here, kthnx.

I myself am a level 67. You know why? Because it takes too much time to be a good ranger or something else like that. End of storryyy. Ive been there, done that. Ive been here since like October 2004. I dont really care how long you've been on. I dont care how you judge me. Ive been a member twice so I know how it is.

addictive at first but.............

i have been playing runescape for almost 2 years on and off and let me tell u it starts to suck reall bad. i got 3 accounts to around 57 and it just gets borin.i mean u go pking u get blown up buy a 100 player clan of 70s and 80s. no matter what level U ARE I MEAN EVEN IF UR 126 ur probably wont leave the game without being called a noob 500000. i mean after u play for a while u relise that all u are doing is cliking the frekin mouse for every minute ur playing the game. the quest are as borin as heck. makin money is almost impossible, no body helps u, grafics suckkk like crap, u get scammed every frekin 5 minutes, ( dont fall for those noted rune items or the money thing that look lke 1.1mil but are 1.1k, check the second trade page or ur gonna get the crap scammed out of u.) all in all the game sucks theres plenny of others out there.

Honestly...

I'll be really honest about this game: It sux! In the start, it's great fun, exploring, killing creating your own stuff, so on. The quests are quite cool, but will get really, really hard later on. I've been playing till i was like lvl 129, but that took a very long time... a whole year of my life screwed up by this game. After you have gained level 70, the monsters will get way too easy to kill. The strongest one is a black dragon, i can kill that beast in like 30 seconds, cast a spell to let him stand still, pray for protection against magic attack (his fire is magic) wear a fire shield so if he will hit you, he will hit you not that high, use a strong spell or attack and dead in 1 hit! There are also some good things, i will tell them to you right away:
1. No download required, maybe java software and flash player plugin, but that wont take that much time...
2. Most games, if you want to make an archer for instance, and you dont like being an archer, you have to start over. Different in this game is: you can train whatever you like! you can be a priest, warrior, mage and archer at the same time! there will come some other things as soon as you are member ,though..
3. In the beginning you might think it looks cool, but look at rose online? go to google and enter: ruff-rose, thats a secret free server, that looks really great, but for a free game, this one is good too...

well, that were the good and bad things, i rate it a 2, because i had expected a lot more of the game with the things i had been hearing about it...

We arnt wasting our money..we are actualy playing games worth our time and effort..not just -hack-slash-"o wow a rune jee i only need 300 more till i can cast 3 spells woooo...hack slash..
O yea and just to realy get any of the good items or do certain quests or jobs you have to pay...so i would rather "waste" my money on a game with kick ass graphics and storylines and non polygon shaped figures...it takes to long to do anything in this game..the controls sux... its to slow and takes ages to egt to a high enough lvl......

Devoid of Fun

Not only is this game a waste of time, but it's an eye sore and the community is terrible as well. Try talking to anyone without being called a stupid "noob", regardless of you status or level in-game. Don't even get me started on the forums. "h3y guyz w4nn4 2 buy mi ful r00n armour for onli 190k plz?"

You may think people who you've met and talked with in Runescape are your friends, but quit for two or more weeks and no one will even remember your name.

Although it is a mediocre game, it can become addiciting, because of the whole RPG aspect of it. The problem is- there's no way to really finish or complete Runescape. There's always some pointless and most likely boring task to finish, be it walking from place to place and talking to NPCs, or just spending countless hours training skills. And to be able to unlock a new feature, there is a chain of events and tasks which must be met and/or completed. Example: in order to buy and weild barrows gloves, a player must complete one of the hardest quests in the game, "Recipe for Disaster". But before they can even attempt to do RfD, they must first complete a series of other mindless quests and tasks. The quests that are required for RfD also require other quests to be completed. And some of THOSE quests require other quests to be completed before being allowed to be started. Some quests require high level skills, or sometimes money or items,all of which take much time to acquire. The combination of all of these things makes a player wonder if it's really worth spending hours and hours to slightly improve their game.

Different stages of Runescape addicition:
1- Starting off in the game and
2- Getting into mid to high levels of the game; starting to feel a false sense of accomplishment. Considering membership.
3- Continuing to level up, considered a high level player. A paying member by this time.
4- Starting to realize that Runescape is not a fun game, but not willing to give up countless hours invested into their game account.
5- Finally quitting, and possibly selling their account to other obsessed antisocial preteens who have nothing better to do.

The same applies to nearly all MMORPGs.

Don't forget autoers! You know, people who write up a macro script to play for them. In most free servers, there are many areas where you'd be hard pressed to find a real person, although there are dozens of autoers there.

Many idiotic Runescape players claim that only people who aren't proficient RS players think it's a horrendous game. Nothing could be further from the truth. Believe me; I played for over a year before quitting, gaining moderately high stats and having a ranking in the top 20%. I'm not bragging, though. I'm actually ashamed to have wasted so much time on a game like this. There is actually no skill involved in playing Runescape, too. Even someone with down syndrome could have a high level account if they devoted many hours a day to it.

Overall, Runescape is a pathetic game and should be avoided. There are many more free online games that are much more fun, such as TBA.

A good game!

I joined runescape a long time ago round a friends before i had broadband. I did the tutorial and thought it was ok but pretty confusing. A few months ago my cousin told me he was playing it so i thought i'd set up another account too. At first i was pretty confused about what to do but eventually i really got into it and now i really really enjoy it. I managed to complete all the free quests so i signed up to members world and didnt realise just how great it would be. There is so much to do in the members worlds and at first i didnt know where to start. Theres so many different monsters, weapons, armours skills to increase and quests to complete this game lasts a long long time. Its also constantly being updated so it doesnt get old either. This is one game to check out!

This game is pretty good. I've played it on and off for a few years. The graphics I think have downgraded but the game itself includes much more. You get to kill monsters and people and if you're not that kind of person, there are many other things you can do, like cooking and mining. By becoming a member for only $5 a month, you have access to many more features, and even the ability to make your own house (this feature is kinda new). There is also a tutorial when you start playing but it's kinda boring. I really hate the times when people go like "Noob" and the chat filters are easy to get around. The game is addicting for the first 4-8 months but then it gets boring and I only play 'cause I have nothing else to do.

Ok, I'm going to be straightforward with this.I'm not going to lie just so you can waste your time making a person and not like it.I think there are 2 kinds of people that rate this game.People that are playing, and people that quit/tried but didn't like it.I'm a person thats in the middle,kind of like not democratic or republic,but independant.It's not the greatest newbie friendly game.They laugh at newbs and most people that call a person a noob don't even know what it means.I know first hand of the harrasment because "Player Moderators" get it the most,as I am one of them.But there are some good points.The C/S is amazing and there are updates every week or 2,be it new skills or graphic improvements.The gameplay is one of the best if your new to MMORPG's or have just been playing "Killing" RPGs or so.It is very diverse in the gameplay,there are many ways to make loads of cash,not just killing things.Also,there is a "Knowledge Base" That helps you throughout the game.It supports both P2P and F2P in most ways.Getting back to the gameplay, the skills are very easy to get the hang of, and many people help you out.Though the hacking,botting and scammers are there(Like in every game) it has very few flaws except for maybe sometimes repetitive gameplay.I suggest you try this game out,what's to lose right?It's a free game and no download.Happy gaming!

This game is the best RPG there is on the web. You can meet people, level up, earn money, fish, cook, mine, make, chop, fight, farm, smith, slay, craft and complete fun quests. It is always getting better and you don't even have to pay. You don't need a members account to enjoy it and it never gets boring.There is a huge map, secret places to go and whatever lvl you are there is always a monster at your standard to defeat. You can also have player to player fights in the wild.

You don't have to pay for this game and I think that it is sad how people waste their real life money on such games as WOW, EverQuest, City of Heroes, Guild Wars e.t.c. when they have a perfectly FREE amazing game that is so simple to go on.

The controls are also really easy, just click and your away. You can just type and talk with no trouble. You also get a tutorial after you join to guide you through the steps. The graphics are bad but Runescpae rocks.

Runescape is an awesome game. I started way back when, in 2004. When i started the game i could get thru the mining part of tutorial island (my friend did it for me) when i finnaly got on after he did it,i started cooking, i decided 2 be a chef. Anyways, about the game. This game has good graphics, but what they dont have in graphics, they make up in awesomeness and keppin it in teh time period. this game is ste in midevil times. it has about 23 skills. When u start out u r a F2P player (free to play) and you train and to semi-awesome quests. You can be a warrior,archer,or a mage. in this game it is easy to make friends. Easy to make money (if ur a high lvl OR have a good non combat skill, 30+ or u get a job somewhere you fight monsters, do quests, kill other players in the wilderness. as you level up, u can hit higher, and use better weapons!!! however, if you dont like fighting, you dont have to! you can be a master chef or be a Woodcutter, hell maybe if ur a member a theif. Now there is another side to the game. P2P (pay to play a.k.a members) in runescape members, you get many new skills and MANY more quests then non members and way more amours and weapons to!!! and the cost is great!!! only 5$ a month or all thos great things!!!! You can always quit members if you dont like it. overall i give Runsecape 6stars out of 5!

i've been playing this game for a year and a half.. then quit when i found a different MMORPG game that seemed to be better than rs. the main objective of the game is to complete all quests, get filthy rich, race to the top and beat zezima (zezima the top 1 best player of rs) and after that, u can relax and spend the rest of ur time bullying others or just bragging about ur accomplishments. membership is affordable and worth it, if the free version is cool, then u'll find being a mem even cooler! with lots of stuff to do and lots of choices to get rich. i started playin for an hour and instantly got hooked to it. the only thing u have to download is the java thingy, but it doesnt take long, around 10 mins tops. after that ur gonna play the game through the web browser. graphics is good on the modern computers. lag depends on the world and population. i've been a mem and you wont regret paying 5$ a month. now im so addicted to this game i can't quit.. hehe.. and.. there are always new updates, which offers you a variety of options on what to do in the game.

As you start Runescape, you will find it very hard unless you have a game guide which can be found by searching for it on google, there are lots of times when you cant be 'bothered' to play it, and its very hard at the start, as you play it more you will proberly enjoy it, its an addictive and fun multi player online game, that you will never get bored of because of many things you can do such as mini games and even player killing!!, runescape is normally updated every 1 or 2 weeks with new quests and games, BEST ONLINE GAME BY FAR.

cons - its very easy to get banned, advertising even if its only meant to help say like 'go to this site _______, it can help you :) ' can get you banned. The game is full of scammers and sad little 10 year olds that are abusive to people

but the postives of the game outwiegh the problems!!

Ok so this game is addicting at first. You level up characters and think, key word think your having fun. After 3 years of leveling up, leveling up, leveling up it gets kinda boring.
Take it from me, I wasted 2 years of my life playing runescape. It lacks any feeling of excitement yet it is addicting at first. After you play it though you lack any feeling of accomplishment. Also...
The staff sux, they don't do anything about anything...
The comminuty is awful and will bypass filters to swear at you in every other sentence...
Leveling up is as boring as hell yet you feel the need to do it (addicting)...
Graphics=horrible...
The quests are impossible unless you use quest sites. An example would be, oh idk, a maze of doors in a building with about 10 levers spread about different rooms that, if you pull them right, will eventually make an important door open (I wasted 5 hours on this one)...
And one last thing, all MMORPG's are supposed to make you feel like your in a real world. Runescape is addicting in a bad way and makes you feeling like you are just making numbers on a screen go up, no storyline...
Dont waste ur time
