This game appeals to a large crowd, you have the freedom to about anything you want and you dont need to spend 15 dollars a month to do so. You can become a pirate or a peaceful trader. you can become a strategic warmonger or a protector of the people. the choice is yours!

this game is frigging awesome, been playing for three years and still gonna play for many years to come. there ain't no free MMORPG better than ChosenSpace.

Terrible Game

If I could give this game a zero, I would. First off, the obvious problems. The creator doesn't listen to the players. At all. He claims he does but he has his own vision and he stick to it, much to the detriment of the game. Secondly, the Admins are terrible. They have favorite players like Deklan and Lady Sheizu and they let them get away with murder but if you step out of line once, they bring the hammer of god down on you. Oh, yeah, he made those two Moderators as well. I played this game for THREE years. When I started, it was great but the Admins have just gotten worse and worse until now the game is nothing like it used to be. Seriously don't even bother with this monstrosity.

To good to be true

This game has so much going for it.... deep gameplay elements and a fantastic community completely overshadow the low end graphics.

BUT. There is one major drawback. You need the patience of a saint to put up with this games administration. I have played for over a year and the one main piece of script that was meant to be added into the game still isnt there.

This game has so much potential, but it seems that the creator isnt able to or isnt interested in tapping it.

Personally I am off to find a complete game to play. If you decide to play this game, try not to get hung up on the lack of updates like I did, just enjoy the fabulous community ... and the politics :)

Good ideas but poorly implemented

The slow update rate and total lack of communication and poor support from the developer plagues what could be an awesome game otherwise.
All in all, don t expect to find a fully functional game or community.

this game is excellent. There are many people who are willing to help, and some very big factions to help you. I started playing 2 years ago, i didnt get the game, i will admit, i left. I restarted a year after that, after i joined a good faction they helped me out, a year after that, also known as now i still have some questions. People are very willing to help. I suggest you should try it.

For those new Players

I've been playing for just a few weeks. For this game to be fun you must make friends. Joining a faction is the simplest way. But you can make informal alliances by just sending messages back and forth. The economy, the wars, missions, quest, it's all player based. It's an awesome game. Don't let the simple graphics fool you, it's the player interaction that make the game so great. If you get confused, ask/message another player, there are enough nice players out there to give you free advise.

Somewhat low on graphics, high on drama and slow on updates

It's a very confusing game to begin with. It almost takes someone who's played the game a while to mentor a new player.

Graphics are low tech. Clicks are high brow. Personal grudges are held and that's probably one of the worst aspects of the game. If one leader or MAC D assistant manger gets it either in for your or other words I can't use for "hots" the experience is ruined.

It is fun and a lot of people take the game seriously, too seriously. To get anywhere in the game requires points. To get points often requires donating. I can understand this to a point but lately, the game has moved in a new direction and I'm not sure if the creator of the game is trying to improve the game or make the game so that everyone will quit and he can move on.

Donating is a mute point if they can't be used for anything. To get ahead requires materials that are either costly or extremely rare. Plus, to build them, requires the points. It doesn't matter how many points one has if there's an extreme lack of materials to build.

And, I've been hearing about that boarding script for about a year now.

Chosen Space is currently in its second version, of which I have played both. For the last three years this game has been my addiction and I was even one of the first to sign up when version 2 was released.

Hello all;
I started playing ChosenSpace a little over 2 years ago. I was "Hooked" the first few minutes, lol.
I'm an old gamer. I enjoy video games and some years ago I found the Internet gaming community. I look at many different games, but only play 4. Three of my games I play still suffer from my attention to our space here, lol.
This is THE Best MMORPG there is anywhere. Period, :)
You may choose any way you want to fly here. Be it a Trader, working your way up to a big ol' Bulk Freighter, or a Miner after those rare rock ore's, or choose to take control of one of our many planets. Fly the Black Market items for big profit, but maybe a bounty is put on you. Fly a warship for your faction Military. The opportunities are about endless. You may choose how your Captain will fly here...in our ChosenSpace.

Massive Space game with plenty of planets to trade with or Asteroids to mine. Kinda of reminds me of TW & TW 2002 but with all the modern bells and whistles. :-)

Have you ever noticed how in other games oyu are constantly limited by your knowledge of the game? Well this isn't true with this game. The game has very supportive staff and very nice players. The only bad thing is that it takes a while to get some points but that's ok. I highly recommend this game.

Best Game I ever played

I have played a LOT of games, this one is by far the best. When you start this game, join a faction right away. Then someone in the faction will help you get started. The Draconian Wolf Order is a great faction. This game is highly addictive, and very fun, after you learn how to play. It is easy to learn. I highly recommend this game.

Chosen Space is by far the best free online rpg I've played to date. I've been addicted to CS for over a year now- and play it daily.
Its a dynamic game that allows for individual, and faction strategies to come deeply into play. A deep and involved system allows for multiple levels of gameplay, and many different paths to accomplish your goals.

Decent Game

I found CS to be fun but I really dislike games that you have to "donate" to get anywhere in game. By the maker of this game giving points for real money its quickly ruining the economy (except for those that "donate"). I dont mind paying for a good game, but I'd rather see a monthy fee (as I understand there are costs for the owner). I also had a strike against my account when a family member made an account. We have a home network (wich was made known to the owner of the game, as well as all the details, and we asked permission to make the account) and still had issues. In all I'd say this is a good in depth game, that is worth playing. i would say it FAR from the best MMO Ive ever played (Have you people ever played a real MASSIVE Multiplayer Online Game?). I don't mean that as a bash but I mean can this guy compete with Sony,Turbine etc. ? I say no.

I have spent about a year looking for the right online game but everytime i found one, it didnt last very long.I got bored.
With Chosen Space, I am addicted. addiction isnt even the right word. I cant get off my PC. with Chosen Space there is a helpfull community and a the ability to do what ever you want.This the most awesome game i have ever played!

everyone is sooo helpful. The faction I am in, United Federation Of Planets (UFP) is a friendly group of people. They showed me everything I needed to do. We work as a group and share the rewards!

For Those About to start:

First Off, Remember the rules, breaking them can get you temp or permanently banned, depending. (EG Being Abusive in your speach, creating more than one account, and that other stuff)

And 2nd, you'll get bombarded with faction invites at the start, Pick the order of the samurai or alliance of avalon, they are the best for newbies i have seen. Samurai is the faction i'm in, I'd be happy to help you when you join.

third, Do not attack anyone at first! your starter ship has a 20th of the firepower one of the big ship's guns!
This does not mean that you can not topple a big faction ( :P [Whistle Whistle] (JK) ) It Just means you have to build yourself up.

4th Realixe that most of the time you will be mining, trading and manufacturing to build yourself up!

Now, Remember this: Get a V2 Miner at the start, the freighter has 2X the cargo but the miner will let you do a lot more! and the merchant is just an oddball ship.



This Game Is the Best Of Bestest games I've played! It's like really living in it, It gets better and better every day!

And Yes there are mindless slaves and those with god complexes, EG just like its real. (In Star Wars the emperor had a "God Complex" and so did some of his admirals.)

I have played this game for approximately one year. I have read the majority of the comments here...agree with the majority. Only reason I am writing this review is to debunk the negative comments. They are entitled to there opinions. But that is all they are, is an opinion. Just like this review here. I came into the game with zero knowledge and have found everyone extremely helpful. The negative comments posted on the reviews here...all two of them, make me laugh. There are no rules to this game when it comes to scamming people, etc. Its part of the game. If you want to take, take...Only thing that is frowned on and will be dealt with quickly is if there is a bug exploit or something along those lines...as for mindless slaves or god complex's they do exist...not everyone is like that in this game. espionage, guns for hire, mining, builders, ambassadors, the list and potential goes on and on...its kind of like the game civilization in space...not as great of graphics, but much deeper in a lot of ways.

Chosen Space is the best MMORPG I've played. Players are friendly to new people and do all they can to get them into the game.

The game can be very confusing at the start, but with the right help you can be able to play in no time at all.

This is an amazing game. It is so easy to lose myself for hours in the various aspects of the game, or to just play for a few minutes to manage my growing empire of mining and trade. The people are great, the staff is helpful and ready to answer any of my questions i have quickly and without having to wait for days for a generic response. This is the one place you can go for all of your gaming desires..Chosen Space has met and exceeded all of my expectations.. Thank you

Excellent multiplayer game. Playable outside of factions, but easiest to get into if you join a faction. (Shameless plug: United Federation of Planets) Really, all the factions are very helpful to new players. In a space of 5.7M grids to visit, or hide in, planetary systems, expanses, and dozens of products and commodities to trade, and needed to build ships and space stations of your own design, it is just incredible. Hint: For the easiest, most flexible start, chose a Mining Ship -- you can still do trading right from the start. If you are sure you want to buy and sell for profit exclusively, right from the start, take a freighter. The Admin is making constant improvements to the game (adding ship classes and other game features) and the community forum is great. One of the best games I have played.

Chosen Space 'v2'

Don't let the simple interface fool you - Chosen Space is a deep game, once you've moved past the 'how do I play' part and become involved in the political aspects. Most of the best parts involve interaction with other players, and 95% of the strategic elements are not obvious to the beginning player.

The game is turn-based, and everyone only gets so many turns a day - this keeps the players with too much time on their hands from dominating the ones with actual lives. You can literally use a day's worth of turns profitably in 5 real-time minutes - and yet, you can also spend literally hours a day on it as well.

I cannot give CS a 5 out of 5, but only because it is nowhere near being a finished product. Players should consider this a really promising beta. There are some important features due to be added such as the fabled 'boarding script' which will allow piracy (ships, cargo, possibly even outposts) and thievery (hacking of credits, bank robbery).

Still, there is plenty for even the veteran players to do, and the community is populous and thriving. I do not consider CS a good game for the solo player, at least not when starting out. It's possible, but pretty difficult.

This is a game where you have to think and interact with real people. You can play the game any way you want. There is no set objective, you make your own. The game also doesn't reset every 30 days or so like other browser based games. I'm hooked!

Chosenspace is a highly addicted game where you can choose your own future. You can become anything, whether it be a miner, trader, bounty hunter, pirate, or much much more. Also, you can lead factions. Factions and forums are what make this game so social. Many people gain relationships outside the game, and foster friendships thanks to the game. Finally, even if there may be something you don't like about the game, or something you just want added, you can actually suggest it to the game creator, and try to get it added to the game! Quite simply put, Chosenspace is the best game to play online today. Personally, I believe that nothing compares.

I've been playing for 5 months now and I'm still having loads of fun. You can essentially be whatever you want to be, the options available are great.

This game I'd definitely rate higher than most console games; and for a FREE game it is amazing!

Try it out if you like space themed games, and Join the Starfleet Alliance!

This game is very addicting, very socialable and one of the best browser based game. You can be Trader, Miner, Pirate, Shipyard builder, Bounty hunter, And many other things.You can Lead faction make loyal friend this game is growing daily.
Its easy to get into faction "But" You most choose the right one. The one am in is very welcoming::D (United System Fleet) and gives free faction ship to active new members:P

Over all Chosenspace is the best game you can play, I have ps3 and barely play it because of Chosenspace:P

Get a Cold Shoulder from the "gods" of this game because they are so afraid of new players because they have no way to control what they call scammers.

"Too many gods and not enough mortals."

Everyone playing this game either has a "god complex" or is a weak-minded slave. Just like the real world.

Be prepared to be killed or suspended without reason. And that by the "gods" of Chosen Space that have too many points and credits that they can reign hell on you in seconds if you don't blow their nose for them.

I left before I was killed. Anyone I referred was suspended before they could play the game.

Frozen Space is a better name. This playground is taken. No room for anyone that might present a challenge.

Only the weak-minded will survive. And only at the mercy of the CS gods.

This game is a space game. It has many different aspects to it. You can trade, mine, bounty hunt. There are about 20 different ships to purchase. Many upgrades. Totally customizable. Easy to learn.

Aweasome Game but the Players were horrible on this. This is no new player game. Groups are formed and its hard to get into a good group without dying like Ten times. Terrible.

Thisis a fantastic game. It never ends which gives the universe a chance to become almost reality. While i is still in beta and a new version is imminent, the original will continue.You can play as a trader, war lord, planet leader or Faction leader or just be independent. It has a wiki, forums and fantastic fan support.

Chosen Space is certanly the best free game out there. Unlike other MMOGs, chosen space is of the players, by the players, for the players. It's dynamic player-frendly systemis like nothing I have ever seen. In Chosen Space, the possiblitys are endless, with billions of factions, hundreds of ways to make money, thousands of types of ships, and a dynamic evolving enviorment that just keeps getting better. And best of all, it is completly free, Really! No strings attached Free, and that alone is a reason to join today.

this games ok, but it took a long time for me to figure out how to play it, oh and if anyone knows a good free game with graphics (like runescape but better) but with no stupid downloads! i download games and they take like 7 years!

Chosen Space is just stunning...Don't let the fact of no graphics put you off. CS should be categorised as a Massively Multiplayer Online Evolutionary Game. The player base is fantastic, helpful and makes the game interesting. Politics is great fun, trading is exciting and mining is awesome. You can transport people around Solia or Casia or just run around killing people. See you mining off Cetus. Cpt. Corax

This game really is awesome! I love the fact that you can play however you want. Be a merchant captain, mine asteroids, be a bounty hunter or a pirate. You can even start your own faction or campaign for master of the universe. The best part is it is still evolving and getting better all the time. I LOVE this game!

This game is one of the few games that I can sit down and play for hours on end, or only a few minutes a day and still feel fufilled...
Very interesting, and constantly changing and improving.

I've been playing this game for a while now and it has been getting better the whole time. The games admin (Torin solo) is constantly improving things, changing things, adding features and most importantly listening to player feedback. Its free, you don't need to install anything and you can play from anywhere in the world, what more do you want?

This game is great and versatile. There are many thing to do whether you are a peace lover, or a war starter. But the best aspect of this game is an awesome player base. They are always willing to help people learn the game. There are always groups recruiting players. This could be one of the friendliest player bases I have ever encountered.

I have never played a game where you could do anything you wanted. There were always rules or objectives to achieve, but with this one you can do whatever you want!

You just HAVE to play this game. You'll be addicted as I am in a few days!

I have to say, this game is superb! Quite fun to explore the economics, politics and diplomacy that unfold from the interacting playerbase. Also, the author of the game is always available and is constantly improving things. Definately one of the funnest online browser games I have ever played.

This is an excellent online game. All sorts of things going on, and plenty of room for expansion. Highly recommended to anyone who likes online galactic games.

Chosen Space is the best free game I have ever played. It is a cool experience to see the game constantly evolve around you. I find that is truly does rival and beat plenty of pay-to-play games. TI si a great game that I encourage anyone to play.

As it is stated in the subject heading, this is one of the best games that I have ever played since starting MMORPGs.

The advertisement that the game allows you to play whatever you choose within the game is quite true. I know the man that has become Ruler of the Galaxy and I know several key people in the game and we all believe that it is quite a bit better than the simple text based games.

Chosen Space allows you to not only go to a planet and trade with it, but you can actually see the coordinates you jump to. The interface of the game is also relatively simple and you can find what you need pretty much at a click or two of your mouse.

Though the game is in its beta stage of development, I find that it is worth playing as it is. As it continues to improve, Chosen Space will rival most MMORPGs out there.

A really nice game. Open ended, many competing styles of play, lots of good people, and can take as much or as little time as you have.

Chosen Space is a unique game that gives players a lot of freedom to pursue their own goals. In many other space games, there is only one way to win... By killing as many people as you possibly can to become the most powerful. In Chosen Space, there are many other ways achieve this. You can trade, mine, rule planets, start your own factions. You can impose your will on others either through diplomacy or might.
One of the best things about the game is that it is completely free. None of the "will give you extra turns for money" that ruins the game for those who don't have the cash. Everyone, no matter how much or little they donate to the game, can become the ruler of the galaxy.
Chosen Space is what all online games should be.. Free, Open ended, and a whole lot of fun.

I have been playing this game for months and I can say that it's the best game I've ever played. You can do almost anything--trading, mining, pirating, bounty hunting. You can even be a politician if that's what you like.
There are great people who really make this game so much fun. The admins are friendly and accessible. If you just give this game a chance, you'll really like it.

I have been looking around for an easy game that has diverse options of play, and this is it. At the start you have 3 ships to choose from, depending on the type of career (trader, miner, pirate) you wish to pursue. After that, there are over 40 ships from which to choose from as you progress in game play experience. On top of that, the comms are often staffed by very helpful and friendly people who are able to answer any questions not answered by the game wiki (itself a massive source of information). A vibrant community of players keeps the forums very busy. I am constantly amazed at how much fun I have with such a simple game, and I highly recommend it.
