Disgusting and Over Rated.

Firstly, I have to admit it can be a good game at times, but the minigames are... just wierd, I mean how is flying through Mc Donalds fun???

Secondly, when you register, and give them your email and stuff, they (This just isn't right...)sell off your email to condom factories, Porn sites and the like, whcih not many people think is suitable for CHILDREN.

I agree with all the comments about how fab neopets is. I've been playing on this sitefor over 64 months.

There are so many games to choose from and only recently have they given the option to pay for premium access (which i personnally havent got) but from reccomendations of my extremely active guild that i am in i may consider, as it can find u the cheaper chearper prices of all virtual items.

This game is great!

I've been playing it for years now and I still love it. It's interesting and there's so much to do.

Once drawback to younger players (under 14) is that they can't send neomails, be on the chatboards or be very active in a guild and much more.

Not because it's not suitable for young children, but I recommend this site to people over 24 so you can enjoy it fully.

I think neopets can teach people a lot about the real world: Stocks and investments, jobs and being a reliable employee, how to take care or animals, and managing money. I've been playing on neopets for quite a few years, and I learned all of these things while playing this game. The thing is, I think I've learned and experienced everything neopets has to offer me. This game may seem boring to adults, not because it's "for kids", but because when you're an adult, they're more options open to you that are more interesting.
I'm not saying don't play neopets; the site is great and well put together. I'm just saying that after playing for five years, and seeing no dramatic change (except maybe the sidebar), you get bored at looking at the same thing again and again each day.

I didn't know this would be considered a multiplayer world, but its still great! I had been playing this since I was young and think its a great site. And if it says your Neopets are dying, they won't really die! lol

this game is so horrible i don't even wanna talk about it. some kids got invited over 2 play this game and as i watched them play the cornyest games i asked them wut website this wus and they said "its neopets yippee!"

i played it for a bit then my pe started to die i was like wtf then i went to a fairy and he was healed phew i kept on playing then all of a sudden it wouldn't let me log some1 took my account after 5 months of plaing it was taken and when they hacked it they changed the email address the password goes to and i told neo team guys and there like f off where busy drinking booze and getting drunk i was ticked so i stopeed played and thats kinda werid a 20 year old playing neo pets -.-

Neopets, a so called 'childrens' site, is extremely average. Firstly, from the moment you submit your email, neopets sells your address to (Uggh, I don't want to even write this) condom companies and the likes. Then, once you are in the game, it is very good. But it is VERY easy to get bored. They also create sponsor 'games' like going to MacDonalds or Flying through Disneyland. I just think that is very weird. Please, stop giving it better reviews than it needs. Oh, and there's the matter of TNT (The Neopets team) always continually posting on sites that Neopets is impressive. Cue yawns about site. I have two accounts because one was falsely frozen. I believe it has been unfrozen, but it was frozen for 2 years without TNT actually confriming that I was being disgusting on the boards. Somebody please get them to freeze REAL hackers!!!!! So, is it as good as they say? YOU be the judge. (Corny end I know.)

Neopets is just a piece of crap!! It is so lame, stupid, and it's boring!!! This game is so childish,(there's no point of older people playing it) and they put weird stuff to make it seem exciting but it's not.... DONT PLAY THIS GAME PEOPLE!!!!!!
It's just a waste of time!!!

alll you do is click and talk.... ok so it has some kool effects like the pets and paitnbrushes and stuff but honestly this is a kidde game.... all you do is talk and click... absolutly no fun at all... expecially if your young and u run out of money.... half of the stuff in the game you can only do if your older. i was on this game for the longest time.... but the most fun thing is guilds.... thats teh only reson i gave it a 2. but not even guilds and its poor fighting couldnt save this game.

Good Site, Great Games

I LOVE neopets. I am a 20 year old university student and i have been playing for almost 5 years. As far as i'm concerned, this is a great thing for kids to be doing. it's relatively safe (PARENTS SHOULD ALWAYS, ALWAYS monitor their children anyway), it teaches kids how to take care of a pet and can be used to teach a child to look after a REAL pet. No matter how many good reviews a thing gets, there are always going to be some people who don't like it, or who have bad experiences with it. overall it's a great site.

This game isn't the most amazing game, but it's pretty fun. There are chat boards to do stuff, and all different things you can do. There is no "free" or "premium" accounts or limitations, so you have access to anything and everything. There are help sites all over for everything in Neopets - the games, shops, avatars, everything. And lots of people play it, too!!! The best thing about it is that you can leave for as long as you like, come back, and your pets and everything will still be there. And it's far from a new site - it's over six years old, and they've pretty much thought of everything. You can even check me out at geckoluvr.

Maybe people think Neopets is bad for children and all, including the 'gambling' part. Ok, so what if there's some gambling? Even adults play Neopets, they are sitting in front of their computers instead of going to the nearest TAB or casino. AT LEAST THEY ARE NOT REALLY GAMBLING! You can create up to 4 pets and do many things. There are caption contests, beauty contests, pet spotlights and more competitions to enter. For example the storying telling competition isn't only playing games, you need to use the BRAIN to think. That will help with English skills wouldn't it?
Why do people think Neopets is bad? There's 'gambling' games? Ok, it might have some so called 'gambling' games but it doesn't meant that everyone plays it and even if they do, it's about chance. And that's some Maths skills too, right?
So I don't see why parents OBJECT to having their children play Neopets; it's educational!

Beware of neopets chatrooms

It has been my experience, that they do NOT have enough monitors. They have party/dance boards that 9 out of 10 times ends with kids as young as 9, 10, 11-16 talking in an adult way..kissing, frenching, and worse (use your imagination) Parents need to be aware most of these kids lie on the registration form to access the chats or parents sign the forms thinking it is safe. Hardly. I have seen ppl running around with webcams trying to get kids to do things in exchange for Neopoints ( their currency) or rare items. I have personally reported offenders only to see the chat topic go 10 pages without getting pulled by them. I have screenshots to back this up as well. Parents be aware of who your child is chatting with even on a kids site. Other topics range from innocent chatter, to topics like Witchcraft and Vampirism. Inappropriate pictures which thankfully usually get pulled within an hour, to pictures of body parts made with a keyboard which sometimes go on for hours. IMO their chatrooms are anything but kid-friendly.

Neopets is disheartening

As an ex avid player of neopets amongst a family of ex avid players I can honestly say this site is very addictive. I began playing so that I was aware what my disabled son was getting upto, and at first I was very happy that he was somewhere safe, however neopets froze his account cheating on a side account. This certainly was not true and my son did not have a side account. He was devastated, as an autistic he took this very badly and began to self harm, wouldnt eat, wouldnt sleep, his poor pet was going to starve and he would never see it again, it was like a death to him.

Immediately I contacted their support team,explained there must be a mistake and the effects on my son after 13 emails I got this:

Hi,

a side account. I'm sorry, but this account will not be returned.

If you have any other questions, don't forget to include the entire text
of this e-mail with your username clearly at the top. This will help me
better address your situation.

Now after 25 emails I have still received no further response, the whole site is geared towards building a relationship with pet and user, a good knowledge of direct marketing at children to encourage the buy our merchandise theme of the site and all too often neopets snatch that pet away without a second thought or care at the effect on its users, neopets is designed to entice your children in, to market to them directly and should they remove access to thats childs pet, despite the hours, months and days spent with it and the devastation it causes, tough, their answer, sign up again.

My opinion steer clear of this site, especially if your child is young or vulnerable, you will get no help from the neoteam.

I have been playing neopets for two years and it is great! Now this discription is pretty old because you can now adopt 4 pets. It also does not have as many popups and sponsers as it used too, and requires no money whatsoever unless you want to pay for merchindese, and they do give out rare item codes, that give you neoitems. As a personal neo-fanatic... this site rules!

This would be a fun game for the kiddies, but they have some adult elements as well, (casino type games, etc) so parents not wanting their kids to learn the joys and pitfalls of gambling beware, that's one of the ways to make (or lose) your game money.

It also has MANY ads and such offering "free" game money for doing something as "minor" as going onto a sponsor's site, looking at their "special deals" and then buying into it.

So moms and dads...be warned if you let your kids play this game, they will most likely be begging you for some extra game money by having you spend REAL money on sponsor ads.

Think it's easy to say no? Wait until their "neo-pet" is near death from starvation and they haven't read enough (lots of reading to learn the important basics) to know there's a place they can have their pets fed for free.

For the kid in you adults, it's a fun game, but very time consuming! I know I wasted 3 hours just playing the slots (Made a good bit of game money, but that's beside the point. : ) but it's nicely set up.

Security-wise, it required me to drop my privacy settings in my firewall to play it. A big negative in my book. Don't invade my privacy!
