Due to new Admins aka Ninjas the host of the game was changed.

This game is amazing, I have been playing it for about four years. And it just keeps getting better, the more players the more fun this game is. Because that means more people to attack, or have in your alliance/guild/clan. This game now has a new alliance system, and is going to have new skills, new mobs/monsters, and quests, etc. Over time the Admins of this game at the moment will try making it 3D, and following the same style or game-play as it does now.

So join today, and if you need any help at all with the game message me in game my name in-game is DarkWatch. You should see me online, as I always am, lol.

this game is so fun, i`v been playing this game for a long time now, you can pick your freinds, and fight the people u dont like. buildings you can create , u can attack other players buildings....

its just so fun when your attacking a base it feels so good, like u defeated them and etc

You have to go check out this game. It may seem so and borring for the first little while, but once you give it a chance it is really fun...

Okay, like everyone said before: graphics are poor. However, if this makes you stop playing then you aren't really much of a gamer (remember the Classics MAN!) Then everyone says that there isn't much of a story if at all: of course, the entire purpose of the game is to build an army and fight against other players! Sounds boring? Well get yourself introduced and get taken underwing by some of the most active members such as Moseleroy, Mike, Fish Taco64, Chaosreaper and many more. They will introduce you into a world of war and fun that many players don't give ML a chance for.

The best qualities of ML is this:
-Active online community both ingame and in the forums.
-Small mini-games and contests every so often
-Friendly players even inspite of ingame competition.
-It is easy to pick up and learn, plus most good alliances recruit and help build you as a player

Give it a try (not a day or a week, but atleast a month) for free. You start now with 300 turns but it only cost $20 for 10,000 turns and 50,000,000 gold!! this will set you for a ML life! When you get into game, look my account up; its DragonLord. I'll try to get you setup to the best of your abilities (even if your a freebie account)

Don't bother

The game is dead. It's only still running so that the game admin can sqeeze in money from 'donaters'. The game play isn't that interesting. There isn't much for new players to learn off of. You're just thrown in. I tried playing and couldn't do a thing. Believe me, you should try another game and save yourself the time.

this is an amazing game were you build forts, cannons, walls and kill mobs to gain skills and chat with new friends i think this is the best free online multyplayer game i have seen so far

Great game! The graphics might not be perfect but the game make up for that, the multiple skill and creatures attack means you can play the game for ages without getting board!

I have been playing Mercenarylords for a while and at first u might not understand the game but once u know how to play the game it is really fun ,in the game their is skills u can get some to help ur army and other skills to drive other players into the ground,to really have fun in the game u need to become a donating member when ur not a donating member u only get 150turns a day but when u become a donating member which is only $20 u get 5,000 turns a day and theirs much more Mercenarylords even has it own forums, so i am teling u to play this game cuz it is really fun to play with freinds online and have a good time

Yes, Mercenary Lords is a great game, there are many things to do, like start an alliance, get new skills, chat to other people or kill them! I started out small, like everybody, but now I have a huge alliance and I am at the top. Mercenary Lords is a very fun, addictive game that anybody can play. When I log on every day, I always look for more challenges, people or monsters to kill. In Mercenary Lords there is always something to do. A great, great game.

Very Fun Game!

I have been playing ML for well over a year now and log on almost every single day. There are many monsters to kill, not to mention fellow players, the option to Donate for more turns, great forums, and almost everyone is very friendly. This game is almost the sole work of one person who made an awesome game, which is now predominantly run by the community.

The second i logged in to MercenaryLords, I was dropped into a new world. From the moment you join this game, you will make friends, enemies, and wage full-scale war against anyone who dares to stand in your way.

One of the best games on the internet, with a great gaming community, and a set of fair and fun administrators. Make some time for this one!

Many players would be turned off by the low graphics, but not myself. It makes the game run much faster than any game that is not text based. You start off being able to only attack zombies and other new players. But the more you play the stronger you will get. You can fight many different enemies including bosses, and learn new skills along the way. Its great fun, and if you ever get bored, just hang out in the forums for a few days until your pumped for an all nighter to take out your enemy. Oh and theres no downloads or email required so you can start playin immediately. Try it out, you'l like it.

Ok let's look at the positives first.. Oh wait... there are none.. I played this game for about 10 days, and each day I only could play for 4-5 minutes, if I was lucky. You see, you get turns in this game, 150 if you don't pay. But this 150 is very decieving. It takes like 20 turns to fight, 5 to move just once, and 10 to move a slightly longer distance. I can deal with the graphics, but I can't deal with a game with graphics that has no animation. Whats the point of graphics if they don't even have animation? There are 3 races to choose from, but there is no real difference. When I said I was lucky if I got to play, I meant it. Many, many times, you simply don't get your turns refreshed the next day. And for no reason, your account gets deleted. I made another account, and guess what? They deleted it for... making multiple accounts. Another of the stupid things about this game. I feel bad for making this review sound so good. Know why? I actually called this garbage a game. Games provide some sort of entertainment. Honestly, a text based game can be funner than this, and thats saying a lot.

The game is terribly slow with IE, but it runs well with Firefox. You almost can't play effectively using IE...try it with firefox.

I've been playing the game for about 8 months. It's pretty fun. It gets hard to build back up if you've been pounded by one of the big dogs, but the excitement of the chase is great!

Gameplay Over Graphics

I've been playing ML for quite some time, and it's still very fun.

When i first started there was someone who was willing to help me, and I was enjoying how easy it was to just log on and start playing by-the-way

The community is friendly, and always willing to help you out, and there's almost always someone online that can help you out.

I've found that if you use Mozilla Firefox (located at www.mozilla.com/firefox) It lets ML run faster because it caches images, instead of having to load them all row-by-row like IE

The concept is pretty simple, move around with the turns you're assigned (150 a day for freebies, or more for paid accounts) And gather up the skills required to get build, smith more weapons, and once done with that, the goal left is to either join an alliance (if you haven't done so already) or make your own

As himogreenleaf and hillbillyrocks have said before me, this game is greatly addicting, graphics or not, and it's changed drastically since the last time www.free-games.com has screenshotted it.

One such change is Territorial Lords, of which there are two. I am one, and Each Lord controls a small plot of land assigned to him by the admin (ThePast) My Land is at coordinates (-400, 500) to (-500, 400) They are given power to aid the players on their land if a nefarious 'criminal' tries to attack them.

Rules are simple too, Don't make more then one account, and talk to others within the reasons of civililzation.

If you ever need help just message me in-game, I'm L33TMaster (click player search, then type my name in, click my name, let the alliance/name status load, then scroll down and click send mail)

In conclusion, I've loved the game, I still love it, and I probably will continue to love it. Even though I paid for one of the special accounts, I'd play even if I was still a freebie.

Post Script- The Forums on ML are also greatly entertaining, Sometimes maybe a little too much ^_~

Mercenary lords is one of the funnest game I have ever played. You can build stuff. you can make a allaince, you can even have full out wars with people. I would know because I have been playing this game for like 5 months. Believe me this game is very fun.

Bad Graphics but ok gameplay. Only problems are they give out too many powers and baiscly the admin is a jerk. But its your oppinion over mine

Lets start with the obvious the graphics are pretty poor but they arn't trying to be anything special so its ok. but you cant see the battles or hear anything. but this is an old looking game. at least you get to choose a race. but the lack of story, challenge, graphics and any point at all makes this a very short amount of entertainment. not forgetting the slow load times.
the best bit of this game is how easy it is to create an account

lifespan 0 (you login and then u want out)

not a gameing disaster but i wouldn't advise playing it for too long, if at all

Revolutionary and Addictive.

As I began to play Mercenary Lords a couple weeks ago, I was skeptical. Browser-based, basic graphics, no email required-how could this be any good?
I was completely wrong.
I get on daily, highly anticipating playing my 150 turns. I am a little low in money right now, so I can't afford to buy a higher level account (but I will when I can). This game is ADDICTIVE.
I have gotten my friends into playing it, and they are all hooked too.
You get to choose between three different races, with different bonuses of each.
Form alliances, betray your comrades, become the greatest.
I'd reccomend this game to anyone who wants to have a game that they don't have to spend a lot of time on to keep up, and who likes a truly innovative gaming experience.

I have been playing this game for a while now and it had me addicted from the first second.
Before in the begining it was a little hard to work out wat to do and there was not much help availible, but now they have amended that and it is easy to understand from the word go.
With the admins working around the clock to inprove the game, the game has steadily improved, not to say it was bad before though.
The graphics are basic and i wouldn't have it any other way, coupled with the simple gameplay this game is perfect for the user that just wants to have some fun in thier lunchbreak.

barest bones, slow Diablo

I can hadle bad graphics. I like bad graphics, but SLOW graphics drive me crazy. I have a fast machine & Internet: yet this runs pig slow, commodore-64-like graphics.

You had better be desparate for a 30 yr old Diablo experience. No story. If you lose to a monster stronger than you, you don't die: u are merly, "humiliated". You can't simply DIE in this game. Where is the chalenge

There seem to be noob, human players all over the map with less money & experience than me, who I can kill, right out of the gate. How can this be? I suspect that they arn't real players. I killed 10; there was no end to my turn; I just closed the window.

Why did I give it a 2; such a good rating? Start up was easy: One click and you are in. Every game should be like that.

Great game, been playing it for about three weeks, it is totaly addictive, to make forts you have to kill Stone Golems, you get a skill called masonry, your not supposed to make dupe accounts and if you don't upgrade your account then its more of a lunch break game, but great addicting game

The graphics aren't that great, but it's really fun and addictive! You start out as a commander of a horde of Orcs, Humans, or Undead, witha asmall amount of funds, and you go around attacking mobs of monsters, other players, or other alliances fortresses. You get money and Victory Points as you go. You can use the money to buy more troops and weapons, or to upgrade skills.
You can unlock more weapons and skills by defeating certain mobs or monsters.
There are a few dungeons, which are very extensive, and offer special rewards to the player who is able to find the way to the lower levels and defeat the monsters there.
I'm now totally addicted.
Best of all, they continually add to the game, so there's always new things to do!

No Guide and Turn Thing Sucks

There is no guide on how to make these forts that you are supposedly able to build. And you only get 150 turns a day. The best thing to do is to just keep making accounts and have your main one kill the others. I think that the game is fun, but you can really only play for 20 minutes a day because of the turns.

This game is kinda simple with the graphics but it is totally addictive. I loved how you didn't need to download anything or give an email, I jumped right into it and started kicking ass!!

This Game is awesome!The graphics look bad but besides that the game is really addictive!You can Build fortresses and burn your enemies' to the ground!Fight monsters to discover special skills to train your army!Form alliances with other players to mount joint attacks and defenses!You should really think about trying this game out :)!
