Best online game I have ever played

Nowhere Else and Beyond (NEAB) is fantastic. Out of the countless other online games I have ever played, this one is the best by miles. Not a single other RPG comes close to how great NEAB is. What makes it so great? Asides from boasting a friendly, unique, and honest community and staff, this game also has limitless depth. Not only can you focus on fighting off the baddies with several different classes of fighters, you can also manage your own store in the market, create your own island which can be viewed and visited by any other Neabian, do one of the hundreds of unique quests, chat to the other players, make your own dungeon, craft your very own items to either be sold or to be used as equipment yourself, mine, fish,cook, travel to clans! The amount of content in this game is enormous! Why the list of things you can do in NEAB stretches on and on! The best part of it all is that the Neab admins add new content to the game practically every week! And no it is not just simple things like a new weapon, or a new monster, the Neab admins make HUGE additions to the game! At one time they might add a whole new spectrum of tiles for an island builder to choose from, another time they might add a new field for the market to expand into, another they might add new auditory sensations (music and sounds) to improve the experience of the game, and another they will make a new server to make the game even more enjoyable and fast for Neabians! Lets not forget the moderators on this site. From Neab, I can honestly say that each of the staff members is committed to his or her job and does it honestly and good. There may be a small conflict between ideas between a regular member and a staff member, but each party in the end works it out, and the fun continues. This is why I can say this is a great community. Nobody holds lasting grudges here, each is friendly to another, and each understands that we are on this game to have fun!

Now what is truly incredible is that this game is free. Absolutely free. With all the work the admins do, with all the amount of space that this game requires on servers, with all the bills that meet the admins, this game remains free. Now you may be saying that there needs to be SOME way the admins have to pay all these bills. Ads? Nope. Not ads. There is not a single Ad on Neab. Its called a nifty item called a Diamond Token. For every Diamond Token bought, a user has to pay $5, REAL money. However! A Diamond Token is worth the money, as it is a valuable game object that can get you valuable things. And you are NOT in anyway at all forced to give any money to the game. Buying a Diamond Token is completely voluntary.

Now. There is one single drawback to this game: Its graphics. The Neab graphics are less than superb. Yet if you were to see this games 2-D graphics, and also see that this game can work on most browsers, you'd assume that graphics have to be simple no? Better graphics also require better servers, which require more money. In order to get that money, the game would have to charge it's players. However, the NEAB admins choose to keep it free, at the sacrifice of excellent graphics for the game. I do not complain. The depth of this game and its friendly community makes up immensely.

I wish I had found this game sooner. This game is truly remarkable, and it would be idiotic not give it a try. :)

First Impressions

Okay, I just played it for like 2 hrs, so dont make too much of it...

The game, as many already said, holds a lot of options for the player. As it seems, you can mix and cook, open shops, draft items, create your dungeons and quests, go mining or wood-choping and probably more. So in that aspect, as far as i know, the game is unique, and thats certainly a plus for it.

The graphics are not good, but sufficient, and certainly better than most browser-based-games feature.

The real downside, i feel, is the fact that you only interact with your environment (not the things in your inventory) by moving over what you intent to interact with: Be it choping wood or fighting a monster... And as far as i know (and thats not much - someone correct me if i am wrong) there is no distance attack - the combat system is very simple. You actually move on the enemy to attack it. The kinda too simple for my taste.

One thing i found annoying as well, was the need to eat. And you need to eat often.

Hence a 3 from me... maybe i will return playing it some more sometime...

As a level 9, I'm not well equipped to critique the island building mechanics of this game, and also haven't had a chance to explore the player made islands. I can say though, I look forward to doing so. The official story is well written, and very intelligent: A large part of quest progression is riddles and mind games, and just a bit of luck. Also of course there is combat, with many different monsters. NEaB is very interesting indeed; I'm happy to grind my way to unearthing it's secrets, and that's an odd thing indeed.

To start: NEaB isn't the best game ever, because it has to be perfect to say that. And this game isn't perfect, no game is perfect.

The nice points:

· You can make your own islands with quests, villages, caves and mountains and other people can visit it and do your quests.

· You can create your own dungeon and place furnitures and a chest to store your items and gold in, and if your dungeon is nice enough it'll got rated, my dungeon has 3 stars :).

· The game is free to play, but you can donate, if you do that you'll receive a DT which you can trade for nice items or sell to other players for high prices.

· There are over the 300 quests, because players can make quests.

· There are a lot of monsters and there isn't maximum level.

· You can own your own shop.

· You can have your own pet and let it fight monsters for you or with you, there are 37 kinds of pets.

· It doesn't require any download, but you can download "the client", so you can play the game a bit faster and it has a bigger screen.

Bad stuff:

· The graphics are not that nice, a lot of images are created by players.

· Without java the game is not very fast.

Most of the players are from the US, but we have some Europian people too, mostly from the UK, Holland (like me) and Belgium.

If you are going to try the game out, don't give up after an hour, I heard many times that the tutorial is hard to do and boring... But if you want to get the hang of it you need to have played atleast like 3 days.

NB: When registered and you don't get your activation mail check your spam folder, if it isn't there go to the guest chat andask an admin to activate you account (the people with golden wings).

NEaB will give you unprecedented freedom to do whatever you want and follow any path you wish too, with player managed islands and plenty of skill's and classes for you to choose from you won't run out off things to do any time soon.
But remember, the freedom doesn't stop with game features. As this is a role playing game you can use your imagination and be what you want to be!
It is constantly being updated and has countless players there to help you or to become sworn enemies with, if you wish, it has all the things that make an MMORPG great and more as well as the ability to run in either browser or client!

Lots to do, let's you actually create parts of the game for others to play. You can create quests for others to do, even make custom monsters for them to fight. Best part is you don't HAVE to do all that. You can just explore and do quests, fight random monsters or mine for ingots. You can also create custom gear. What a great game!

In a few short words, it's okay, about an above-average game, with nearly 300+ hours of gameplay. Doesn't really hook me on as much, but it's a good game, to say in the least.

Addictive

I've played a large amount of MMO's during my time. But they usually bore me and I stop. WoW and Diablo 2 *whilst not an MMO* are the only Multiplayer RPG's I kept coming back to. Then I hit NEAB *Nowhere Else and Beyond*

I immediately didn't think too much of it, though I did enjoy the old school 2d graphics. I love the puzzles and challenges the game provides, and it has a lot of fully functional quests that work quite well. Also the community is very nice.

Most of the economy is player run, and this adds to a lot of interest. The biggest thing I found close to unique was the Item Inventor. Allowing you to make nearly limitless combinations of items, name them how you want, and slaughter things with them.

So give NEAB a try. It DOESNT require a donation to keep the game running, people who HAVE donated aren't at a ridiculously unfair advantage, and lastly - It's storyline is darn good.

Nowhere else and beyond is just awesome. You can solve quests, fight monsters, talk to all the friendly players/PH’s (Player Helpers), or just explore the many villages.

Its a Good mmorpg

Advantages:
- Can be played everywhere using a browser
- Can create your own island w/ quest in it (like rpg maker game, but here other people online can play your quest, about 99% quest in this game are created by players after being check by the admins)
- Can create your own dungeon (like your house, you can store items, gold, furniture, and if you have lots of money you can upgrade to make it bigger, so people can get a room in your dungeon, like a hotel)
- Create your own equipment (stat & desc)
- Lots of different type of pets that can help in battle
- Skills (mining, pickpocket, herb gathering, cooking, etc...)
- Others rpg feature like, guild, combat monster, quest, pvp, etc...

Disadvantage:
- 2D game & the graphic wasnt good

*The game gets some update like every week with some new feature, for example last time update was the ability to buried treasure and create a map (like a pirates), and recently the game starts to make a client to make the game's better...

Unique game unique community

I have just celebrated my second year of playing Nowhere Else and Beyond (NEaB).

Quite frankly it is the most unique browser based game i have ever played. Listing the features would take too long and you can check those out for yourself, so i will just name the main advantages it has :P

*Great Community
*Regular player-created and admin updates
*NO downloads (so can be played in school and work
*Runs in 99.9% of computers
*No annoying turns/ticks. You can play as long as you like
*Completely free, not just a free trial!
*The first 2D map game that you walk on WITHOUT it having to re-load on every step (we have all played those games and they are annoying)

I was going to
play world of
warcraft till i
saw it took over
3.5 GB to use x.x
So then I looked
and found Neab.
When I first saw
this game it didnt
look good because
of the 2d graphics
but I was wrong.
This game is a
must try for
anyone. My friends
thought their was
a catch when i
told them its free
and you can
join clans, chat,
send messages,
trade with other
players,do quests
and more. Not to
mention the quick
downloading for
each page and for
my piece of crap
computer thats
a good thing.
This game is
100% free and
a must try for
anyone who wants
a challenge.

Greatest Game and most available

How would you like a game that can be played anywhere and on anything for FREE. NEAB kicks ass, I've played on my laptop, sidekick, and even my phone.

Doesn't hurt to try it, no annoying pop-up ads and players can literally make their own little world. Go play! I'll catch you in Soupir.

This game has a unique, small and helpful community, everybody knows everybody else.

You dont have to be a harcore gamer, or a soft gamer... Work at your own pace. Many only just chat.

It has very unique features, like the "Object Inventor" which allows you to create your own objects! Making an island is also very fun and educational.

The creator of this game has invested alot of time into... creating the game (I mean ALOT), but is always working on something new and will come into chat once in a while, to have a chat. How many games do you know that have THAT? So if you have a good idea there is a good chance it could be implimented into the game!

I will not lie when I say that power-hungry players who want to be the best are too far behind to catch up, because unless you train allot every day, it will take you a long time to catch up to the best players, but that doesnt matter, because you will still be highly respected and listened to no matter what level you are! (Providing your friendly etc).

Many other games offer 3d images/maps/games, Nowhere-Else and Beyond gives you only the basic 2d stuff which is no good, right? WRONG! Nowhere-Else and Beyond may be a 2d game but that's what sets it apart; if it where a 3d game it would ruin the stratagy needed to play this game and turn it into another "boring 3d game." PLUS, since it is 2d it doesn't even have ANY download needed to play it (So if you're worried if your going to lag, you're not!) And how many games let you own your own island and create your own items, none but Nowhere-Else and Beyond! So come on, at least give it a chance.

It's a browser based 2D online RPG. Very similar to Final Fantasy 1-6. You spend your time leveling up and completing quests. You get access to 100% of the game for free. As a side project, you can create your own island and your island becomes a part of the game. Players can complete your quests, buy your items, wear your gear...it's like making your own game within the game. I've never played a game for this long so that says a lot about it. You can use the chatroom to get advice and talk to the other players your competing with to become the highest leveled, smartest, strongest and richest player in the game. Good times!!

This game is the best mmorpg on the web!! It has just gotten some major updates and is still being updated very often. Pets are now a feature in this game. The players of this game are very friendly making the game even better, for all of those ppl who hate gettin cused out by players on Runescape, you should try this game;)Play Now!!

Ok, so it's browser based. PLEASE don't let that put you off. This is one of the most absorbing and addictive games on the internet. Features include:

*New java system, lets players see each other and chat on the field. Also, they can heal each other and pick pockets.

*New battle system, which allows for strategic battling of monsters. You can hang back, and bombard your opponents with magic of arrows, or charge in and attack hand to hand.

*New class system: Want to be a vandal, and weild twin weapons for a huge attack? Or perhaps a rogue, with the ability to use bows and crossbows. Perhaps you would prefer to be an Ice mage, freezing your opponents solid, or a Vampire mage, leeching the life from your enemies? There are four fighter classes, and five mage classes.

*Great community, with players constantly chatting, trading and generally helping each other out.

*The ability to own and customise your own dungeon, weapons and island. To my knowledge, no other game offers this ability. When you own a dungeon, you can rent out rooms to other players, heal and have a safe place to keep your gold. Gaining the Object Inventor allows you to make your own custom weapons and armour, if your skills are up to it. And, possibly the most impressive feature, is the island system. Players can request a sandbox, and eventually put a working island into the game, that other players can explore and adventure in. Truely a first.

I've gone on for ages, but thats only a taster of the many features this game has. It's easy to pick up, easy to get into. You will be welcomed by all the players. So give this game a try, you wont regret it.

This is a truly amazing game.Ive been addicted to this game for about 2 months!Yes,its that good you can do almost anything you would expect from a good mmorpg.You fight monsters get rich and try to become the best player there.You can chat with other playersfor help or just to talk.There are always new quests to try out with the new ability to create ur own isalnd and make it public for everyone to visit.I'm amazed that this game is free and it runs within your own browser the best part there is always something to do I love this game im sure you will to.

I would never have expected that an RPG like that would be possible within a browser. There are a good number of quests, monsters, and lots of things to do. Moreover content seams to be added continuously which is great. It looks like there is a strong community supporting this game. I love it.
